Status, follow-ups & re-contacts
How a lead's status is set — mostly automatically from its stage, plus the three you set by hand.
Where: Lead Detail → move the Stage · tap the status flag → Set Status
Status is the lead's disposition — a fixed set of 8: New, Working, Follow Up, On Hold, Junk, Future Client, Won, Lost. Five are set automatically by the lead's Stage; only three (Follow Up, On Hold, Future Client) are set by hand.
- Stage drives status. Moving a lead to a stage applies that stage's status in both directions.
- Set Status sheet (tap the status flag) sets only the three hand-set dispositions. Won and Lost are NOT here — they come from moving the stage.
- Follow Up and On Hold never change the lead's stage.
- Future Client opens a re-contact picker — 3 months / 6 months / 1 year / custom. It schedules a "Re-contact {name}" task and sets the status to Future Client.
- A stage whose auto-status is Follow Up opens the Create Follow Up form instead of setting the status silently.
💡 Good to know — Stage and Status are two separate fields. Stage is your editable pipeline; Status is the disposition.
